SEAL Defensive Shooting & Mindset Class

In the real world, it's not just shooting skills that matter. Your mental state has a tremendous effect on your survival too. Get defensive training and up your mental game with a mindset adjustment. This class, open to all, will be taught by 20 year SEAL Team, veteran Special Warfare Instructor and Operator, Dorr Overby.  Dorr has a resume of experience unsurpassed by any instructor in Southern California. He is a known entity on YouTube and renowned for his teaching skills. And to top things off, we are honored to have two-time Stanley Cup Award- winning, retired Head Coach of the Israeli National Men's Hockey Team Bobby Holik. He is an expert on "mindset for success under pressure", and has a passion for mentoring young adults and others who want to improve their focus and "up their game." Bobby will speak to the mindset adjustment we all need to adequately function and rapidly respond when stressed in a defensive scenario. 

This will be a full-day, outdoor training class, with a break for lunch. The morning will be focused on handguns, and in the afternoon .223/5.56 caliber rifles. 

Note:   Students do not have to be SEAL candidates to take this class. The class is designed to be manageable for the majority of our intermediate to experienced shooters,  does not require major flexibility, strength nor stamina and is geared toward the defensive needs of older, less athletic students.... like me.

Defensive shooting theory, defensive mindset and defensive skills acquisition is the goal.

We are honored to say Bullets & Bagels is one of the few, non-law enforcement group permitted to train with these calibers at Prado Range.

We recommend only AR or IWI Tavor (x95 or SAR), or Ruger Mini14  style rifles. Semi-automic pistols, not revolvers. 

We do not provide firearms and -- I confirmed -- no rentals are available onsite. Therefore, you must provide your own firerams. This may be a good time to consider purchasing a rifle.

Eyes and ears protection will not be provided. Electronic headsets are strongly recommended. We favor the Peltor Sport  Tac500 model headsets, but there are many other excellent choices too. Other required and recommended gear will be clarified on the confirmatory email to those who register.  

Max. students = 16.  Lunch is not provided.
